The crypto community feared the worst after seeing a massive withdrawal from the cryptocurrency project Seferium, just hours after the group completed a massive $600,000 fundraising.

According to blockchain security Certike and other analysts, the developers of Safereum – using the token address “safereum.eth” – opened the token offering and threw away holdings worth more than 600 Ether (ETH), causing price inflation. Safereum (SAFEREUM) token to jump over 94%

The so-called rag-pull comes after the team has completed fundraising of nearly $600,000 for the resulting token, Safepad. It is understood that these funds were part of a total stolen sum of $1.27 million at current prices, a total of 720 ETH.

Certike said the illicit funds were distributed through a series of wallets, further complicating the monitoring process.

Anonymous non-vulnerable token (NFT) trader Dieed.eth has described the Safereum scam as one of many “crazy” scams it has seen.

“Safereum/Safereum just hit the craziest rugs I've ever seen, after completing their 700e Safepad presale they've dropped over 600e Safereum and Safepad for one last exit,” they wrote in an X post to their 12,600 followers.

Meanwhile, a number of influencers have been called out for their alleged role in promoting the Seferium project.

Blockchain sleuth ZachXBT pointed to a fake user known as ProTheDoge in his role as the official promoter of the scam project, suggesting that this isn't the first time the user in question has done a bit of hard work.
