When will the United States sell 130 million dollars in Bitcoin?
The United States government has announced plans to sell approximately $130 million worth of bitcoin. These cryptocurrencies have already been caught up in the high-stakes Silk Road investigation.
Court documents released on January 8, 2024 confirmed the disappearance of 2874.904256 BTC, worth approximately $129,251,164.54, and an additional 58.742155166 BTC, approximately $3,304,833.65.
The United States is going to sell more than 2,930 Bitcoin (BTC).
This move to sell more than 2,930 BTC comes after the United States District Court for the District of Maryland in US v. It is after his ruling in the Joseph Fares case. The tokens were initially taken from Ryan Phares and Sean Bridges. The decision marks a major step in the government's management of digital assets involved in criminal activities.
“The United States hereby gives notice that it intends to dispose of the forfeited property in such manner as may be directed by the Attorney General of the United States,” the court documents read.
