While Do Kwon is in jail, the SEC has asked for the trial date to be postponed
Terraform Labs founder Do Kwon has asked the US District Court to extend his trial until March.
In a Jan. 11 letter to US District Judge Jed Rakoff, Cowon's legal team emphasized its intent to attend the scheduled Jan. 29 hearing. However, they assumed that Kwon would be allowed to return to the United States. Right now.
“Le Mr. Koon wants to attend the trial. His counsel hoped that the extradition process in Montenegro would proceed faster than they did.”

In the year In February 2023, the SEC filed fraud charges against Kuhn, alleging his role in orchestrating a multibillion-dollar crypto-securities fraud.
The lawsuits are related to the collapse of Terraform Labs' stablecoin TerraClassicUSD (USTC) and its associated crypto token Terra Luna Classic (LUNC).
Recognizing the urgency of the trial, Kwon's legal team has indicated that it will not be possible for him to attend this month's trial date.
“We understand that the court cannot adjourn the hearing indefinitely, but we understand that an extension until mid-March would provide a realistic opportunity for Mr. Kuhn to be present,” the letter said.

In the year In December 2023, Cointelegraph reported that the Montenegrin Court of Appeal overturned the decision of the Podgorica High Court to extradite Kwon to either the US or South Korea.
This comes after a week ago, US and South Korean authorities requested that Kwon be detained for an additional two months after serving his sentence.
Both the US and South Korea are seeking Kwon's extradition. There is growing speculation that Kwon could face multiple sentences in both countries.
Kwon was arrested in Montenegro in March 2023 after trying to use forged travel documents to leave the country.
