According to Wintermuth's recently published annual valuation and outlook report, this consolidation is due to its growing holdings of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and digital assets.

The company predicts that a major corporate acquisition or merger will be settled entirely in stablecoins this year, which will show a greater integration between crypto and traditional financial systems.

The forecast comes as institutions increasingly recognize the advantages of efficiency, speed and cost of cross-border transactions.

The shift to stablecoins is part of a larger institutional adoption seen in 2024, which saw Wintermutt's OTC trading volume quadruple to a record $2.24 billion in a single day in November.

Wintermut CEO Evgeny Gaevoy emphasized the role of stablecoins in bridging the gap between crypto markets and traditional finance.

The company's outlook suggests that tokenized corporate debt or equity held in stablecoins will become increasingly popular as companies explore blockchain technology for its transparency and efficiency.

The company has expanded its presence in international ETF markets by partnering with OSL Digital Securities and HashKey HK Exchange to support Hong Kong-listed Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs.
