Blackrock has launched a product offering of Ethereum ETFs
BlackRock is expanding its crypto investment lineup with the addition of new Nasdaq-listed Ethereum staking.
BlackRock on Thursday introduced the iShares Staked Ethereum Trust ETF, or ETHB, as an exchange-traded product (ETP) that combines spot ether (ETH) exposure with “monthly income potential” as part of its ETH holdings.
The product expands BlackRock's digital asset offerings, including the iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (IBIT) and the iShares Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHA). Both ETPs are the largest in their segment with over $55 billion and $6.5 billion in assets under management.
“By consolidating space ether exposure into an ETP and incorporating rewards, ETHB provides an important new way for investors to participate in the evolution of the ecosystem,” said Robert Michnick, Global Head of Digital Assets at BlackRock.
ETB uses Coinbase as a custodian and provider
According to its prospectus with the Securities and Exchange Commission, BlackRock will use ETHB Coinbase as a custodian and issuer of shares.
The fund's approved issuers are currently owned by Fiment, Galaxy Digital and BitWise.

The stock awards are intended to be distributed monthly but “at least on a quarterly basis,” the filing notes.

At launch, ETHB will offer a sponsor fee of 0.25% with a one-year grace period, reducing the fee to 0.12% on the first $2.5 billion in assets under management.
Grayscale first to enable Ether ETF shares in the US
BlackRock's ether staking product has arrived as several competitors have launched similar offerings.
Grayscale Investments, BlackRock's largest crypto ETF competitor by assets under management, announced plans for the Grayscale Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHE) and Grayscale Ethereum Mini Trust ETF (ETH) on October 6, 2025, becoming the first US crypto issuer to do so.
The company has placed stock on Greyscale Solana Trust (GSOL), which began trading in late October. Additionally, Grayscale launched the Grayscale Avalanche Staking ETF (GAVA) on Thursday.

Other issuers, including 21Shares and REX-Osprey, also support holding Ether ETFs. 21Shares announced in February the expected 2026 distribution dates from the 21Shares Ethereum ETF awards.
