Blockshow Is Teaming Up With Blockdown For A Crypto Festival In Hong Kong


BlockShow, the largest international conference dedicated to the blockchain and cryptocurrency industry, is returning after four years, teaming up with BlockDown Festival – powered by PR Agency – to bring the festival-like Web3 event to Hong Kong in 2024.

Originally launched in 2016, BlockShow is supported by blockchain industry publication Cointelegraph and works closely with EAK to produce the Asian edition of BlockShow X BlockDown, which will be held at the Hong Kong government-sponsored cyberspace. Known for hosting prominent Web3 companies such as Animoka Brands, Cyberport is Hong Kong's Silicon Valley and will be the premier venue for the flagship BlockShow X Blockdown Asia event.

The main conference will take place from May 8 to 9, 2024, and will be accompanied by side events on several additional days. It was natural to choose Hong Kong, the region's growth as a global technology and Web3 hub in recent years has made it the perfect location. Cyberport will be transformed into a Web3 city, with multiple floors, exhibition spaces, galleries, meeting zones, cafes, restaurants, workshop rooms, open-air spaces and more.

BlockShow X BlockDown Festival aims to transform Hong Kong into a Web3 city for five to seven days, featuring multiple conference stages, an art gallery, a gaming zone, a music stage, a zone dedicated to startups and venture capitalists, and more. Among its main topics, the festival will explore SocialFi, GameFi, Web3, Art, Music, Culture, Decentralized Finance (DeFi) and Real World Assets.

Additional days of the BlockShow X Blockdown Asia event will focus on topics such as Bitcoin Ordinals, niche fields in DeFi, games and more. Organizers plan to hold ice-breaking events at some of the best restaurants around Hong Kong, as well as sports-oriented networking events focused on futsal, tennis, basketball and other activities.

The BlockShow X BlockDown event aims to bring in 5,000 attendees, with early bird tickets ranging from $290 to $1,190 depending on the ticket type. The next price increase will see tickets go from $490 to $1,390.

The Web3 industry is poised for discovery in 2024, with Asia set to lead the coming bull run as developers and crypto users grow, according to Blockshow founder Adi Crizzy.

A real web 3 holiday

BlockDown has pioneered the Virtual Web3 conference scene since its launch in April 2020, playing an important role in bringing the crypto community together during the outbreak. BlockDown has attracted some of the biggest names in the industry, including former Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao, Shapeshift CEO Eric Voorhees, Chainlink Labs founder Sergey Nazarov, Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson, and popular singer and songwriter Akon.

BlockShow has held several previous conferences, launching BlockShow Europe in Munich in April 2017 when Bitcoin (BTC) was trading at around $1200.

BlockShow has organized three in-person events in Singapore in 2017, 2018 and 2019. In 2018, he hosted the Blockshow Americas Conference in Las Vegas. Like many other global events, Blockshow temporarily suspended in-person conferences during the pandemic, but continues to host several online events in 2020.

One of the longest-running industry events, Blockshow has historically featured notable personalities not only from the cryptocurrency industry, but also from the traditional financial world as well as other fields such as information and technology.

BlockShow's featured speakers include Vitalik Buterin, founder of Ethereum, Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, founders of Gemini, and Yat Siu, founder of Animoka Brands. The conference proceedings featured Wikipedia co-founder Jimmy Wales, veteran American venture capitalist Tim Draper and Fundstrat's head of research Thomas Lee, among others.
