Chainlink announces general availability for CCIP

The ChainLink Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) is now in General Availability (GA).
A developer can use CCIP without a license to transfer tokens cross-chain and send messages to smart contracts.

Chainlink, the decentralized computing platform for the Web3, has announced the official launch of the Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) for general access.

The Chainlink team said in a blog post that CCIP's general availability means any developer can now integrate CCIP on all supported blockchains.

Permissionless access also means developers can use CCIP to transfer tokens, send random messages and data to smart contracts over supported networks.

According to Chainlink, GA currently supports working with Ethereum, BNB Chain, Arbitrum, Polygon, Avalanche, Base, Optimism and WEMIX. CCIP will integrate more chains soon, Chainlink Group announced.

After Chainlink hit a number of milestones over the past few months, CCIP will begin general availability. This app includes starting remittance and native ETH and USDC token transfers.

In general, CCIP supports cross-chain token transfers that include ETH, USDC, and LINK.

The team updated the protocol's pricing model to strengthen efficiency in token transfers and cross-chain messaging.

Chainlink highlighted key CCIP partnerships in the crypto and blockchain space, including DeFi platform Aave, cross-chain protocol XSwap, and Korea-based game developer WEMADE.
