Dfns Concordium Integrates Blockchain For Serial Web3 Wallet

Dfns, a digital wallet infrastructure provider and partner of technology giant IBM, has launched an authenticated Web3 wallet solution integrating Concordium's Layer-1 (L1) blockchain.

Concordium's privacy-preserving identity overlay is now part of Dfns' Wallet-as-a-Service (WAS) platform, the companies announced in a joint statement with Cointelegraph on Wednesday.

“This integration enables financial institutions and enterprises to immediately deploy compliant, privacy-preserving wallets without building complex identity infrastructure from scratch,” said Clarisse Hage, CEO of Defense.

The move follows Dfns' partnership with IBM in October to launch IBM Digital Asset Haven, a platform designed to help financial institutions and governments securely manage and scale their digital assets.

Addressing the “compliance bottleneck” that prevents institutional adoption

With Dfns' WAS technology, organizations can create and manage wallets for their users without the risk of technical complications or lineage management, Hage told Cointelegraph.

“Combined with Concordium's built-in identity layer, this means each wallet can be directly and objectively tied to a real-world identity in a way that supports regulatory compliance while protecting user privacy,” she added.

The result is a simple and compliant way for banks and fintech platforms to enable users to access passenger assets, storaticoin and on-chain financial services without compromising security, user experience and trust, Hage added.

This solves the immediate ‘compliance bottleneck' preventing Web3 from gaining institutional acceptance, as global regulations tighten, enterprises are under urgent pressure to verify user identities without compromising privacy and user experience.

In the year Founded in 2020, Dfns boasts more than 130 clients in banking, custody, settlement and trading, including Dutch bank ABN Amro, investment firm Fidelity International, Standard Chartered's Zodia Custody and USDC Issuing Club, among others.

Defense has partnered with around 120 blockchain networks to date, including Testnet, a spokesperson for the forum said.

Concordium has established itself as a leading institutional-grade digital asset service provider by partnering with entities including Tether-backed stablecoin company StableR.
