Mango Markets Eisenberg Accused Of Child Pornography

In October 2022, Avraham Eisenberg, who was indicted on charges of defrauding Mango Markets of $110 million through the Decentralized Finance (FiFi) protocol, was charged with possession of child pornography.

In a court filing on April 3 – which was released on April 26 – Eisenberg had on his devices images of pre-teens under the age of 12.

In August 2023, another court filing said the images were obtained during a preliminary investigation by the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation into allegations of fraud and market manipulation, after the images were first found on Eisenberg's laptops and cellphones.

After child pornography was found on Eisenberg's electronic devices, the law enforcement agency was granted a second warrant in February 2023 to extend the scope of the original warrant search.

The latest court filing shows Eisenberg carrying child pornography from 2017 to 2022. The court document reads:

“The accused knowingly possessed with intent to view books, magazines, periodicals, films, video recordings, computer discs and other materials containing child pornography.

The charges have yet to be confirmed, but the Mango Market exploiter could face up to 10 years in prison if found guilty. Under the US Penal Code, simple possession of child pornography carries a minimum sentence of 10 years in prison.

Investigative journalist Christopher Brunet Eisenberg said he was able to obtain screenshots of the minors' conversations, but said “these conversations are too offensive to post on Nussstack.”

Eisenberg was arrested in Puerto Rico in December 2022 and has been in a US prison since January 2023. In October 2022, he was found guilty of fraud and market manipulation for exploiting the DeFi protocol Mango Markets for $110 million.

The verdict was handed down on April 18 after a two-week jury trial, with a judge set to announce the verdict at a July 29 hearing. Eisenberg could face up to 20 years in prison on the fraud charges.
