World Liberty Financial proposed to use 5% treasury to grow USD1
World Freedom Finance, which is backed by the Trump family, proposes to use 5% of the project's WMFI token treasury to increase the supply of Storti Coin USD1.
The proposal was posted to the World Freedom Financial Governance Forum on Wednesday, where the group noted the need to increase the supply of USD1 to keep up with the “increasingly competitive stablecoin landscape.”
The proposal states that the additional offering will help spread “USD1 issues across select high-profile CeFi and DeFi partnerships,” which will help create more “value capture” opportunities in the WMFI ecosystem for further adoption.
“As USD1 grows, more users, platforms, institutions and chains will integrate into the global financial infrastructure of freedom. This will increase the size and influence of the network managed by WMFI owners,” the group said.
“Every dollar in circulation drives demand for WMFI's managed services, mergers, liquidity incentives and ecosystem programs,” he added.
World Liberty Financial's WMFI token began trading on exchanges in September. Leading up to the commencement of work, the project indicated that 19.96 billion will be allocated to the treasury out of the total WWFI provision. At current prices, that total is nearly $2.4 billion, with a 5% opening equal to $120 million.
The group listed three possible voting options in the proposal: a vote against or an abstention. Voting is now live, but it's unclear exactly how voting will take place.

Reaction to the proposal is currently mixed, with few indicating support for the proposal and “against”.

The project's stablecoin launched in March and has a market cap of $2.74 billion, according to CoinGecko data, making it the seventh largest US dollar-pegged stoccoin on the market.
The opening of the treasury of 5% helps to accelerate the development of the property; But it has a lot of work to do if it wants to dislodge competitors: PYUSD, ranked sixth behind PayPal, has a market cap of $1.1 billion, more than USD1.
