Decentralized exchange aggregator CoW Swap has called on users to avoid using the website after an unknown party hijacked its domain.

In Tuesday's X-Post, the decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) behind CoW Swap said its website had a “DNS encounter.” [Domain Name System] hack”, causing the backend and APIs to pause. The frontend exploit, at the time of publication on the website, continues.

“We are now actively working to resolve the situation,” CoW Swap said. “Please refrain from using SwapPointLamPointFi until we confirm that it is safe to use.”

DNS attacks like the CoW Swap report are not uncommon among crypto and blockchain companies, where attempts to extort users' money are at risk. Decentralized exchange Balancer reported a domain attack in 2023, while Curve Finance said it experienced multiple DNS hacks.
